Netflix rolls out July releases and eyes live‑TV to boost engagement

Netflix announced a slate of new titles for July 2026, including the comedy series “O Falcão do Golfe” starring Will Ferrell, the drama film “Heartstopper Para Sempre”, the miniseries “O Mapa dos Desejos”, the Korean drama “A Leste do Palácio”, the third season of the NFL documentary “Quarterback”, and other releases such as “Eu Antes de Mim” and “23 000 Vidas”. The platform is also expanding its catalog with titles from other services and classic film guides, highlighting a broad selection of movies and series across streaming providers.

Internally, Netflix is evaluating new ways to improve subscriber engagement. Executives are discussing the creation of linear live‑TV channels within the service, the sale of bundled subscriptions to rival platforms, and a greater focus on live‑sports events, including potential rights to future World Cups. The move follows a recent slowdown in engagement metrics and a decline in U.S. audience share to 7.8 %, while the company’s advertising business generated about $1.5 billion last year and aims to double that figure in 2026.
