Brazilian U-17 Handball State Champions Secure National Games Spots

The Escola Jader Saraiva from Porto Acre won the Acre state title in the Under‑17 girls handball tournament, defeating Escola Divina Providência 25‑10 and earning a place in the national phase of the Jogos Estudantis, scheduled for mid‑October in Nova Iguaçu (PR).

In Mato Grosso, the handball teams of Sorriso – both male and female – captured the state championships at the Sinop tournament held 24‑30 July. Their victories guarantee qualification for the national stage of the Jogos Estudantis, set for October‑November. The Mato Grosso event featured about 1,200 athletes from 44 municipalities across multiple sports.

Both state victories advance the respective schools to the upcoming national student games, highlighting the growth of youth handball in Brazil's regional competitions.
