Brazilian Universities and Institutes Receive Equipment and Student Aid

The Faculty of Computer Engineering at the Federal University of Southern and Southeast Pará (Unifesspa) received donated electronic‑waste equipment and materials from the Padre Pio Health Post and the Capuchin Church on July 30. The items will support the university’s E‑Lixo research project, which focuses on electronic waste collection, recycling and circular‑economy solutions, and will be used for teaching, research and extension activities.

The Federal Institute of Pará (IFPA) Campus Santarém opened a selection process for the 2026 Auxílio Permanência program, allocating a total budget of R$ 67.2 million. The aid will provide four installments of R$ 300 to students in vulnerable social situations to help cover essential expenses such as food, transport and housing. Applications are accepted online from 10 to 25 August, with preliminary results expected on 31 August and final results on 9 September.
