Brazilian universities award research grants to faculty in Amapá and Goiás

Six professors from the Universidade do Estado do Amapá (Ueap) were awarded the CNPq Productivity in Research scholarship, receiving a monthly stipend of R$2,100 for three years. The funding is split between CNPq (R$1,000) and the state research foundation Fapeap (R$1,100). Recipients include Ângela Ubaiara, Tarcísio Alves, Marcela Videira, Olavo Filho, Robson Lima and Valéria Novais, representing pedagogy, production engineering, fisheries engineering, environmental engineering, forestry engineering and pedagogy. The signing of the grant agreements took place during the I Forum of Postgraduate Studies in Amapá, raising the proportion of Ueap faculty with doctoral titles benefiting from the scholarship to 10%.

The Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de Goiás (Fapeg) announced three open calls for proposals: (1) Call 14/2026 to support the structuring and consolidation of Geographical Indications in Goiás, with a total budget of R$1 million and submissions due 21 August; (2) Call 13/2026 to fund research and innovation projects in inclusive special education, also budgeted at R$1 million, deadline 4 August; and (3) Call 12/2026, a complementary call to the ERC‑CONFAP 2026 programme, offering up to four grants of up to R$50,000 each to support participation in Horizon Europe projects, with a deadline of 10 August.
