Brazilian Universities Host Community Festival and Judicial Dialogue
On July 25, the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU) in Minas Gerais will hold the Arraial Popular Solidário, a cultural fair featuring traditional food, folk dances, a children’s quadrille, poetry sessions and a solidarity bingo. Organized by UFU’s Center for Popular Solidarity Enterprises together with local social movements, the event aims to promote regional culture and generate income for family agriculture and artisans.
The following day, July 24, the State University of Santa Cruz (Uesc) in Bahia will host the second edition of the Justice in Territory project, an initiative of the Bahia State Court. The program includes a series of lectures on challenges facing Brazil’s judiciary, a public debate, and the presentation of a Merit Medal in Judicial Education to Uesc’s rector. It seeks to strengthen dialogue between the court, students and the broader community and to expand access to justice in the municipalities of Ilhéus and Itabuna.
