São Paulo schools adopt emergency evacuation training to boost safety
A 2025 technical‑safety coursework by Adriano Francisco da Silva Oliveira and colleagues at the Centro Paula Souza developed and piloted an Emergency and Evacuation Plan for the CEU EMEF Vila do Sol school in São Paulo. The project included a training program for students, teachers and staff, a simulated evacuation drill, and a review of regulatory standards. Participants reported higher engagement, better knowledge of escape routes and a stronger sense of collective responsibility. The authors conclude that combined training and awareness are essential to reduce accidents and ensure rapid, organized responses in school emergencies.
