Brazilian universities announce dozens of master’s program slots for 2026‑27 intake

The Universidade do Estado do Rio Grande do Norte (Uern) opened 16 seats for its Professional Master in Philosophy (PROF‑FILO) for the 2027‑2029 cohort. Applications run from 10 August to 28 September 2026, with a R$ 100 fee and reserved spots for people with disabilities, Black, Indigenous or university staff.

The Instituto Federal de Mato Grosso do Sul (IFMS) announced 16 free slots for the Professional Master in Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer (Profnit), beginning in 2027. Applications close on 20 August 2026, the fee is R$ 350, and the selection includes an online exam on 12 September and a curricular analysis.

The Universidade do Estado da Bahia (UNEB) released 1,592 postgraduate vacancies for a master’s program in Neurosciences, with five reserved for affirmative‑action candidates. Applications end 10 August 2026, with an R$ 80 fee and possible exemption.

The Universidade de Marília (Unimar) opened more than 50 master’s and doctoral places in Law, Administration of Innovative Organizations and Animal Health, slated for the second semester of 2026. A portion of each program is set aside for minorities, including Black, Indigenous, disabled and migrant candidates.

The Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso (UFMT) also announced openings for a master’s degree in Zootechnics in Sinop, though details were not provided.
