Brazilian voice actors discuss dubbing for Clevatess and Daemons of the Shadow Kingdom

Voice actors and directors are providing behind-the-scenes insights into the Brazilian Portuguese dubbing process for recent anime releases on Crunchyroll.

For the series Clevatess, voice actors Yuri Chesman (Klen) and Fernanda Bullara (Alicia) discussed the complexities of their roles. Chesman noted the challenge of balancing the character's youthful appearance with the weight of an ancient being, especially since the original Japanese role is performed by a woman. The production, directed by Guilherme Marques, features a dual vocal approach for the protagonist, with Wellington Lima voicing the beastly form of Clevatess.

In a separate feature for Daemons of the Shadow Kingdom, the dubbing team including Pedro Crispim, Natália Alves, Filipe Albuquerque, and Jennifer Gouveia shared their experiences. Director João Victor Granja described the process of assembling the vocal performances to create a cohesive final work. The series follows the journey of a young man named Yuru in a remote mountain village.
