Brazilian youth athletes secure major combat sports titles

Brazilian youth athletes have achieved significant milestones in international combat sports. Thuê Martins Peçanha, a 13-year-old jiu-jitsu athlete from Caraguatatuba, secured two gold medals at the 2026 Women's Olympic Jiu-Jitsu World Championship. Competing in the youth-1 category, Peçanha won titles in both the Gi and No-Gi modalities.

In judo, 15-year-old Clarisse Vallim has been selected to represent Brazil at the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Senegal. The current cadet world champion will compete in the women's -78kg category. Vallim's selection follows a successful international career, including a world title in Sofia, Bulgaria, and gold at the South American Youth Games.
