Brazilian Youth Boxing Championship Kicks Off in Cuiabá as Judoka Henrique Bahiense Heads to World Judo Event

The Confederação Brasileira de Boxe (CBBoxe) opened the Campeonato Brasileiro Cadete e Juvenil de Boxe in Cuiabá, Mato Grosso, on 16 August. The tournament runs through 22 August and features up to 217 athletes born between 2010‑2011 (cadet) and 2008‑2009 (juvenile) competing for national titles and a pathway to Brazil’s senior squads.

Separately, Flamengo judoka Henrique Bahiense received his first call‑up to the Brazilian cadet judo team for the World Cadet Championships in Guayaquil, Ecuador, scheduled for 20‑23 August. He will join reigning cadet world champion Clarisse Vallim and senior‑level competitor Manuela Maia as Brazil seeks strong performances on the global stage.
