Brazil's 2025 critical mineral exports total $11.4 billion, EU accounts for 37% of trade

In 2025 Brazil exported US$ 11.4 billion worth of nine designated critical minerals—copper, niobium, silicon, nickel, lithium, graphite, rare‑earth elements, phosphate and potash. The European Union purchased US$ 4.3 billion of those exports, representing 37.6% of the total, according to a technical study released by ApexBrasil.

The report stresses that Brazil’s large reserves make it a strategic supplier for the global energy transition, digitalisation and supply‑chain security. It notes that EU policies such as the Critical Raw Materials Act, the Global Gateway initiative and the European Raw Materials Alliance could underpin new partnerships. Domestic financing tools—including BNDES credit lines, Finep funds, incentive‑linked debentures and programmes under Nova Indústria Brasil and the New PAC—are highlighted as mechanisms to support downstream processing, refining and industrial production within Brazil.
