Brazil's Encceja 2026 Exam Scheduled for August 23

The National Exam for Certification of Youth and Adult Competences (Encceja) 2026 will be held on 23 August across all Brazilian states and the Federal District. Participation is free; candidates must be at least 15 years old for the fundamental level and 18 years old for the secondary level. The exam consists of two daily sessions, each with two tests covering subjects such as natural sciences, mathematics, languages, arts, physical education, history, geography and a compulsory essay.

The Instituto Nacional de Estudos e Pesquisas Educacionais Anísio Teixeira (Inep) has released a guide with seven possible essay topics for 2026, ranging from virtual violence against women to climate‑change adaptation. Candidates are advised to review the guide to prepare their written response.

Registration and test‑center information are available on the official Encceja portal (enccejanacional.inep.gov.br). Results can be used for certification of completion of fundamental or secondary education, but certification must be requested separately from the designated certifying institution.
