Brazil's Campanha do Agasalho 2026 expands donation sites in cities and universities
The Campanha do Agasalho 2026, a winter‑clothing drive organized by municipal social assistance offices and the Fundo Social de Solidariedade, is collecting coats, blankets, shoes and other warm items for families in need across Brazil. In Lucas do Rio Verde the campaign, under the theme “Aqueça um Coração”, continues with collection points at the city hall, CRAS centers, fire department, community centers and local businesses. The municipal first‑lady Janice Ribeiro stressed that many children lack proper winter clothing and urged residents to donate usable items.
University campuses are also participating. The University of São Paulo’s Butantã campus hosts several collection stations at the Institute of Astronomy, Geophysics and Atmospheric Sciences, the Institute of Geosciences, the Institute of Energy and the Center for Sports Practices, with a deadline of 26 June (extended to July at the IAG). Donations are routed to Projeto Casa Caminhos and the NGO Entrega por SP. In Várzea Paulista, the campaign operates at supermarkets, schools and community venues, inviting the public to contribute clean, intact winter wear. All donated items must be in good condition and washed before delivery to the partner organisations, which will distribute them to vulnerable households.
