Brazil's 2027 Carnival Samba Finals Schedule Unveiled

The 2027 Rio de Janeiro Grupo Especial samba‑enredo finals will run from late July through September, starting with Tuiuti’s official presentation on 31 July and concluding with Grande Rio on 20 September. Selected dates include Portela (4 Sept), Mangueira and Mocidade (5 Sept), Vila Isabel (11 Sept), Salgueiro and Tijuca (12 Sept), Beija‑Flor (17 Sept), Imperatriz and Maricá (18 Sept), Viradouro (19 Sept) and Grande Rio (20 Sept).

In São Paulo, the Acadêmicos do Tucuruvi will be the seventh and final school to parade in the Grupo Especial on 6 February 2027 at the Anhembi Sambadrome. Their 2027 theme, "Ogbódirin, Ògbóni," honors the Yoruba fraternity Ògbóni. Competing samba‑enredo submissions are being collected, with an online listening event scheduled for 25 July during a local feijoada.
