Brazil’s population of people aged 60 and over has surpassed 32 million, a 56 % increase since 2010, prompting a surge in demand for housing tailored to older adults. The city of João Pessoa is being singled out as a prime location for “senior living” projects because of its pleasant climate, extensive health‑care network, mobility options and beachfront lifestyle, earning it the nickname “Brazilian Florida.”

TagHaus CEO Frank Ramalho says developers that offer accessible units, communal areas, proximity to hospitals, pharmacies and shops in neighborhoods such as Cabo Branco, Tambaú, Manaíra, Jardim Oceania, Bessa, Altiplano and Miramar are likely to meet the growing “silver economy” demand. Investors see opportunities for long‑term rentals, second homes and senior‑focused residences, while families seek homes that combine safety, independence and convenience for aging relatives.
