Ribeirão Preto to Host Brazil's 2026 National Agrarian Law Congress

The VIII Congresso Nacional de Direito Agrário will be held in Ribeirão Preto, São Paulo, from 25 to 27 August 2026 at the Taiwan Centro de Eventos. Organized by the União Brasileira dos Agraristas Universitários (UBAU) with several partner bodies, the three‑day event expects more than 1,500 on‑site participants and over 3,000 online attendees. It will feature 17 panels covering legal aspects of coffee, sugar‑energy, citrus, animal protein, agricultural inputs, land regularisation, governance, rural credit, taxation, agro‑environmental issues and international trade, including the EU‑Mercosur agreement. President of UBAU Albenir Querubini said the congress reflects the strength, tradition and innovation of Brazil’s agribusiness.

A separate gathering, the 25th Congresso Brasileiro do Agronegócio, takes place on 10 August 2026 at the Sheraton WTC São Paulo. Co‑organised by ABAG and B3, it includes a round‑table titled “New Government: Priorities and Commitments” where Alberto Pfeifer, Luiz Carlos Corrêa Carvalho and Sérgio Vale will discuss infrastructure, regulatory security, foreign trade, innovation and investment to boost the sector’s competitiveness ahead of the presidential election. The conference also presents the Ney Bittencourt and Norman Borlaug awards.
