Brazil's Anchieta‑Imigrantes Toll Rate Rises to R$40.60

On 1 July, the toll fee for the Anchieta‑Imigrantes highway system in São Paulo state increased by 4.9%, reaching R$40.60 per vehicle at the Riacho Grande (km 31) and Piratininga (km 32) plazas. The hike applies only to traffic heading toward the coast; the opposite direction remains untolled.

State agency Artesp and concessionaire Ecovias plan to split the charge to R$20.30 each way and to introduce a free‑flow electronic collection system. Ecovias postponed the rollout, citing ongoing testing and homologation, without setting a new date.

When the two‑way fee is implemented, the Cujubim toll on BR‑364 in Rondônia, currently R$37, is expected to become Brazil’s most expensive toll plaza. The change follows a court decision that previously suspended Cujubim’s tariff due to insufficient road‑work evidence.
