Brazil's ANEEL auctions four transmission line lots worth R$1.8 billion

On 3 May 2026 the Brazilian electricity regulator ANEEL held a public auction at the B3 exchange in São Paulo for four transmission‑line projects (lots 7‑10) across São Paulo, Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul. The auction is the second transmission‑lot sale of 2026, following a March auction that offered five lots.

The four lots represent an estimated total investment of R$1.8 billion and are expected to create more than 4,000 direct and indirect jobs. Winners were selected based on the highest discount to the regulator’s revenue cap. Consórcio Olympus XX secured lot 7 with a 52 % discount, while Axia Energia won lot 10 with a 51.84 % discount. Axia Energia Sul captured lots 9 and 8, offering discounts of 57.24 % and 59.04 % respectively. The contracts cover the construction and maintenance of about 61 km of transmission lines and the installation of substations with a combined transformation capacity of 2,400 MVA.
