Brazil's ANTT concludes freight cost research to refine minimum floor policy

The National Land Transport Agency (ANTT) has concluded the collection of data for a research study focused on operational costs within the road freight sector. The initiative aims to improve the calculation methodology for the National Minimum Freight Floor Policy. The survey targets various industry participants, including autonomous cargo transporters, transport companies, and cooperatives, to ensure that regulated freight values reflect current economic realities such as fuel, maintenance, and driver expenses.

In support of industry cost management, SETCESP, through the Paulista Institute of Cargo Transport (IPTC), offers specialized services to help companies navigate these fluctuations. Their tools include a Minimum Freight Floor Calculator, which updates automatically with current indices, and various monitoring dashboards for diesel prices, labor costs, and cargo demand to assist in commercial decision-making and rate negotiations.
