Brazil's Anvisa bans digital health platform, recalls repellent, cosmetics and industrial kerosene

The National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) ordered the immediate shutdown of the Voy digital platform, which offered online medical consultations and delivery of prescription drugs, citing lack of proper sanitary registration and illegal dispensing of controlled substances.

Anvisa also suspended the sale and use of the Repele insect repellent (batch 61/411) after laboratory tests showed insufficient efficacy of the active ingredient IR3535, directing the manufacturer Mavaro to recall the affected units.

In addition, the agency mandated the recall and prohibited the marketing of several DC Biocosméticos products—including shampoos, conditioners, a skin‑relief ointment and a cleansing lotion—because they were sold without the required sanitary registration and, in one case, made therapeutic claims that classify them as medicines.

Finally, Anvisa issued a nationwide recall of all batches of the industrial cleaning product Querosene Petrus, declaring it unregistered and produced by a company lacking the necessary operating authorization, banning its manufacture, distribution and use.
