Brazil's August festivals boost tourism in Rio de Janeiro and Rio Grande do Norte
The Costelão & Modão Fest took place on August 15–16 at Fazenda São Bento in the Farol de São Thomé area of Campos dos Goytacazes, Rio de Janeiro. The two‑day event featured slow‑cooked rib, cold draft beer, family‑friendly leisure activities and live music by Wesley Martins, Larice Barreto and Natallha Fernandes, aiming to attract visitors during the off‑season.
On August 15, Monte das Gameleiras in Rio Grande do Norte hosted the third edition of Motofest, part of the 6th Gastronomic and Cultural Festival of the town. The free event combined rock performances by Side Control and Carol Sant’Ana with a motorcycle exhibition, drawing expected crowds of tens of thousands and promoting local tourism.
Both festivals are key attractions in Brazil's summer calendar, seeking to stimulate regional economies and showcase the country’s cultural and culinary diversity.
