Brazil's August Rural Festivals Boost Local Economies
The Festa Rural Piraí 2026 will take place from August 13 to 16 at the Centro de Eventos in Piraí, Rio de Janeiro. The four‑day program includes a specialized exhibition of the Mangalarga Marchador horse breed, a Casa do Produtor with lectures and networking, a Sabores Rurais showcase of local food, a Festival da Cachaça, a cavalgada, and a mini‑farm attraction, aiming to promote tourism and cultural heritage in the Vale do Café region.
The 31st Festa do Peão de Boiadeiro de Piracicaba runs from August 11 to 22 at Unileste in Piracicaba, São Paulo. Organized by Organização Estrela and ES Agência de Eventos, the rodeo festival is expected to generate nearly two thousand direct and indirect jobs and spur higher demand for clothing, gastronomy, and hospitality services. Highlights include performances by national music acts, traditional rodeo competitions such as bull riding and the three‑drum test, and a Team Penning contest, all contributing to a significant economic uplift for the municipality and neighboring cities.
