Brazil's Banco Bradesco shares rise 4.5% after analyst rating tweak

Banco Bradesco SA (NYSE:BBDO) saw its share price climb 4.5% on Friday, trading as high as $3.16 and closing at $3.1760. Trading volume fell sharply to about 1,865 shares, far below its average of 73,550. Analysts at Weiss Ratings adjusted the stock’s recommendation from a "buy (b)" to a slightly lower "buy (b-)" rating. The bank reported Q1 earnings of $0.12 per share, a 14.15% return on equity, an 8.95% net margin and revenue of $13.07 billion. It also announced a dividend of $0.0609 per share, yielding roughly 4.08%, payable on February 8. Institutional investors added modest positions in the fourth quarter, including new stakes by Intergy Private Wealth, Cetera Investment Advisers, Renaissance Technologies, Tocqueville Asset Management and SmartHarvest Portfolios. The company maintains a current ratio of 1.16, a quick ratio of 1.16 and a debt‑to‑equity ratio of 1.17, with a market capitalisation of $33.79 billion.
