Brazil's Bolsa Família adds qualification support and issues payment notice
Caixa Econômica Federal released a notice for Bolsa Família beneficiaries, confirming that payments for NIS numbers ending in 0 have been completed. The program, which supports 19.3 million families with roughly R$13 billion in transfers, averages R$677.66 per family and provides higher amounts for pregnant women, nursing mothers and children under 18.
The Chamber of Deputies' Labor Committee approved a proposal creating the Bolsa de Apoio à Qualificação e Permanência (BAQP). The new aid will cover transport and food costs for participants in professional‑training courses linked to the Programa Acredita, and the amount will not be counted in the family income calculation for Bolsa Família eligibility. Recipients must maintain at least 85 % attendance, with priority given to women heads of household, youth, Black individuals, members of traditional communities and other vulnerable groups. The measure still requires further legislative approvals before becoming law.
