Brazil's business groups press presidential hopefuls for reforms
The National Confederation of Commerce (CNC) hosted the first day of the "Agenda dos Presidenciáveis 2026" in Brasília, bringing together representatives of the services sector federation FENACON, trade unions, and other business leaders with pre‑candidates for the 2026 Brazilian presidency. Participants included Ronaldo Caiado (PSD) and Romeu Zema (Novo), who outlined proposals to cut the so‑called "Custo Brasil," strengthen legal security, simplify regulations and boost the country's competitiveness.
FENACON highlighted the strategic importance of the services sector, which accounts for a large share of Brazil's GDP and employment, urging for a more stable regulatory environment and policies that support entrepreneurship and investment. The event aims to feed the compiled agenda into the candidates' platforms throughout the election cycle, shaping future economic and labor reforms.
