Brazil's audiovisual sector receives R$1.4 bn investment boost for 2026
Brazil's audiovisual industry is set to benefit from a R$1.4 billion allocation in the 2026 action plan of the Fundo Setorial do Audiovisual. The plan aims to support the entire production chain as video consumption rises – Brazilians now spend about four hours per day watching online video and the market is projected to reach US$14.4 billion by 2029. A new portal launched by Embratur and the Brazilian Film Commissions Network centralises data on the country's 24 film commissions, most of which are municipal bodies; 17 are active and Rio Grande do Sul hosts the most with seven. Meanwhile, the Paracine free immersion programme runs in São Paulo from 7‑9 August, offering young peripheral participants hands‑on training in scene direction and production. The combined funding, market data and sector‑focused initiatives underline a rapid growth phase for professional video production in Brazil.
