Brazil's Cadastro Único system to suspend services in June, prompting families to update records

The municipal government of Volta Redonda urged families to keep their Cadastro Único (CadÚnico) records current to prevent interruptions to social benefits such as Bolsa Família, Programa Luz do Povo and the Benefício de Prestação Continuada. More than 48,000 families are registered in the city, with about 9,000 needing to update their information.

The federal Ministry of Development and Assistance announced that the CadÚnico platform will be offline from 7 p.m. on 11 June until 7 a.m. on 15 June for technical maintenance. During this period the CadÚnico app, as well as municipal CRAS systems, will be unavailable, halting new registrations, data updates and online queries. Payments to existing beneficiaries will continue if their situations remain regular, and families are advised to complete any pending updates before the outage, especially as health‑related conditionalities for Bolsa Família must be met by 30 June.
