Brazil's Caixa and INSS set to release salary bonus payments to workers

The federal government announced that Caixa Econômica Federal will release the PIS salary bonus (abono salarial) for a new group of private‑sector workers within seven days. Eligible employees, whose birth months are July and August, can receive up to R$ 1,621, with the amount calculated proportionally based on months worked during the reference year. The payment follows the established calendar that aligns releases with workers’ birth months.

Separately, the National Institute of Social Security (INSS) is processing the second installment of the annual bonus, commonly referred to as the 13th‑salary supplement, for retirees, pensioners, and other benefit recipients. Payments began on 25 May and will conclude on 8 June 2026, with amounts varying by the beneficiary’s monthly benefit; the maximum possible credit is R$ 4,237.77. Eligibility excludes recipients of the Continuous Provision Benefit (BPC) and the former Lifetime Minimum Income. Beneficiaries can consult payment details through the Meu INSS app, website, or the 135 phone line.
