Brazil's Bolsa Família pays June benefits to families with NIS ending in 8

On June 26, Caixa Econômica Federal began paying the June installment of the Bolsa Família program to beneficiaries whose National Social Registration (NIS) numbers end in 8. The basic benefit remains R$ 600, but new add‑ons raise the average monthly payment to about R$ 677.66. The government expects the program to reach 19.34 million families this month, with a total outlay of R$ 13.08 billion.

In addition to the base amount, families receive R$ 150 per child under six, R$ 50 for each child aged 7‑17, and R$ 50 for pregnant or nursing mothers. A “protection rule” applies to roughly 2.26 million families, granting them half the benefit (average R$ 369.27) when a household member earns up to R$ 706, for up to one year.

A one‑off early‑payment was made on June 17 for beneficiaries in 207 municipalities across eight states (Rio Grande do Norte, Amazonas, Paraíba, Paraná, Pernambuco, Rio de Janeiro, Roraima and Sergipe) that were affected by floods, droughts or vulnerable indigenous populations. The payment follows the usual schedule of the last ten business days of each month and can be tracked through the Caixa Tem app.
