Brazil's Bolsa Família program pays June benefits to 19.34 million families

The federal Bolsa Família program disbursed its June 2026 installment to 19.34 million families, allocating R$13.08 billion in total. The minimum payment is R$600 per family, with the average amount rising to R$677.66 due to supplemental benefits: R$150 for each child under six years, R$50 for each child aged 7‑18, R$50 for pregnant or nursing mothers, and six monthly R$50 installments under the Benefício Variável Familiar Nutriz for mothers of infants up to six months.

Payments follow the standard calendar for the last ten working days of the month, identified by the final digit of the beneficiary’s NIS. In addition, on 17 June, payments were advanced in 207 municipalities across eight states—including Rio Grande do Norte, Amazonas, Paraíba, Paraná, Pernambuco, Rio de Janeiro, Roraima and Sergipe—to aid areas affected by drought, severe rain or indigenous vulnerability.

Approximately 2.26 million families are under the “protection rule,” receiving 50 % of their benefit for up to one year if their income rises, with a monthly cap of R$706 per member. Since 2024, the program no longer deducts the Seguro Defeso from benefits, a subsidy previously paid to artisanal fishers during the breeding season.
