Brazil's Caixa shifts lottery draws to Sunday, boosting Mega‑Sena prize to R$35 million

Starting 19 July 2026, Caixa Econômica Federal moved the regular draws of its federal lotteries—including Mega‑Sena, Quina, Lotofácil, Timemania, Dia de Sorte and others—from Saturday night to Sunday at 11 a.m. (Brasília time). The change extends the betting deadline: single bets can be placed until 10 p.m. on Saturday, while online pool bets close at 10:45 a.m. on Sunday. All other rules, prize structures and odds remain unchanged.

The first Sunday draw, Mega‑Sena contest 3033, offers an estimated R$35 million top prize after the previous draw (contest 3032) had no winner. The extraction takes place at the Espaço da Sorte on Avenida Paulista, São Paulo, and is streamed live on Caixa’s official YouTube and Facebook channels. The schedule shift is expected to increase participation by giving bettors more time before the draw.
