Brazil's Carnival 2027 sees new training regimen and muse appointment
Brazilian samba queen and fitness influencer Juju Salimeni has begun a new training cycle for Carnival 2027, incorporating a periodised program that alternates lower‑body and upper‑body work to achieve a more balanced physique. Trainer Lucas Ferreira explained the approach, noting that a four‑month pause on upper‑body work was intentional to avoid excess volume and to prioritise quadriceps and hamstring development.
Raissa Machado has been announced as the new musa for the Unidos de Vila Isabel samba school for Carnival 2027. Machado, a veteran of the Marquês de Sapucaí with previous roles as Rainha de Bateria for Viradouro, returns inspired by her daughter. She said, “My trajectory in Carnival was built with love, dedication and respect… I am grateful and ready to live this new cycle.” The school will parade on February 7, 2027, with the theme “Torto Arado – Sobre a Terra Há de Viver Sempre o Mais Forte.”
