The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) is in advanced talks to stage an international friendly in Kolkata, India, during the extended FIFA international window that runs from 21 September to 6 October 2026. The match, expected in the first week of October, would be Brazil’s first senior‑team appearance in India in decades, but the opponent has not yet been confirmed.

Brazil has already scheduled two friendlies against Australia – in Townsville on 25 September and in Brisbane on 29 September – as part of the same “FIFA Super Date” period that allows up to four matches. Negotiations for the Kolkata fixture began during the 2026 World Cup, spurred by massive local support for the five‑time champions. While Bangladesh, Singapore and Qatar also expressed interest, only India has progressed to the final stage. Final contractual details remain to be settled before a formal announcement can be made.
