The Port of Paranaguá in Paraná handled 47.3% of Brazil's chicken exports in the first five months of 2026, shipping a record 1.04 million tonnes and generating US$1.88 billion in FOB revenue, the largest share of the national total. China was the main destination, receiving 114,200 tonnes, while other key markets included South Africa, the United Arab Emirates, Japan and Saudi Arabia, covering more than 120 countries.

In the same period, Santa Catarina achieved a historic milestone, exporting 543,100 tonnes of chicken meat and earning US$1.15 billion, the highest value ever recorded for the state. The region accounted for 24.9% of Brazil's chicken export revenue and 22.9% of the volume, with major buyers such as the Netherlands, Japan, China and Saudi Arabia. The growth reflects Brazil's strong avicultural production, improved sanitary standards and diversification of export destinations, boosting the agribusiness sector nationwide.
