Brazil's CNseg pushes risk‑management integration into infrastructure projects

At a panel during the Brazil 2030 event in São Paulo, Claudia Prates, director of sustainability at the Confederação Nacional das Seguradoras (CNseg), called for insurance to be embedded in the early structuring of infrastructure projects. She argued that identifying and transferring risks before financing can make projects more bankable and reduce the economic impact of extreme weather events.

Leandro Marin, regional vice‑president of Aegea, added that while there is strong market demand for infrastructure capital, the lack of robust technical modeling hampers investment. Both speakers emphasized that coordinated risk‑mitigation tools involving insurers, developers, financiers and public authorities are essential to build resilient projects and attract funding.
