Brazil's Construction Sector Generates 154,000 Formal Jobs and Launches New JCB Excavator

The Brazilian construction industry created 154,000 formal jobs, making it the second‑largest source of employment in the country, according to the Ministry of Labor and Employment. The sector also supports public health through sanitation projects, such as expanded sewage collection and treated‑water distribution, which reduce infection rates and hospital costs.

JCB introduced the 3CX PLUS backhoe loader, produced at its Sorocaba plant with engineering input from Brazil, India and the United Kingdom. The machine adds advanced ergonomics, a redesigned cabin, and higher productivity, targeting construction firms, equipment rental companies and agribusiness. JCB aims to raise its share of Brazil’s backhoe market from roughly 30% to 40% with the new model.
