Brazil's culinary scene highlights Portuguese partnership and innovative menus
Chef Matheus Monteiro presented a seven‑course menu at the seventh edition of Uma Noite no Iberê on 28 July, reinterpreting everyday Brazilian ingredients such as pork ribs, matambre and cheese. The experience, limited to 30 participants and priced at R$ 390, combined a guided tour of the Iberê Foundation, a dinner at Café Iberê and wine pairings by sommelier Arlindo Menoncin.
The inaugural Chefs Week Rio, running from 25 July to 3 August, celebrated Brazil‑Portugal culinary ties with a special lunch at Casa Fuego in Copacabana. The event featured Portuguese wines and fixed‑price menus (R$ 250) prepared by renowned chefs including Pedro Lemos, Jéssica Trindade and João Paulo Frankenfeld, inviting locals and tourists to explore Portuguese viticulture alongside Brazilian cuisine.
