Brazil's Distrito Federal and Schroeder launch upgraded digital public service platforms

The Federal District's open data portal received a major redesign, adding advanced navigation tools and clearer presentation of public datasets such as gender‑based violence, traffic, housing, public spending and property crimes. Since its launch in 2017, page views have grown from about 105,000 in 2024 to over 160,000 in 2025, reflecting rising public interest in transparent data.

In the southern state of Santa Catarina, the municipality of Schroeder introduced a free, 24‑hour telemedicine service called Saúde Online, serving roughly 24,300 residents with medical and nursing consultations, symptom advice and prescription renewals via phone and WhatsApp. The same day it unveiled the "Schroeder na Mão" mobile app, which consolidates services such as tax payments, service requests, health, education, transport, job listings, waste collection, project tracking and event calendars for Android and iOS users. Both initiatives aim to increase digital access, reduce in‑person visits and boost transparency in local government.
