Brazil's TV Brasil Petrobras Prize for Women's Football Launched
On 28 February, the Empresa Brasil de Comunicação (EBC) issued a national call for the inaugural TV Brasil Petrobras Prize for women's football, created jointly by TV Brasil and Petrobras. The award will honour athletes, coaches, technical staff, managers and clubs that excel in Brazil’s women's football during the 2026 season and is intended to become the country’s principal exclusive honour for the sport, filling a historic gap.
EBC president Antonia Pellegrino said the prize supports the legacy of the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil. It will be presented in categories such as Player of the Season, Coach of the Year, Best Women’s Football Department and a fan‑voted “Craque da Torcida” award, with public voting slated to begin in August.
