Brazil's 2026 Election Registers Over 158 Million Voters Nationwide

The Brazilian Supreme Electoral Court (TSE) reports that 158.7 million citizens will be eligible to vote in the October 2026 general election, a modest increase from the previous cycle. The total includes a 42.5% rise in voters with disabilities, reaching 1.96 million people.

State‑level data show São Paulo as the largest electorate, with 34.1 million registered voters – 21.48% of the national total. Bahia follows as the fourth‑largest college, counting 11.3 million voters, while Rio Grande do Norte, Amazonas and other states each exceed 2 million eligible voters.

Overseas voting also expands: the Brazilian electorate in Portugal climbs to 134,797 registered voters, a 66.6% increase since 2022, with Lisbon becoming the most active overseas polling station.
