Brazil's TSE allocates R$4.9 bn Electoral Fund, PL leads with R$881 m

The Tribunal Superior Eleitoral (TSE) released the allocation of roughly R$4.9 billion from the Fundo Especial de Financiamento de Campanha for the 2026 elections. The funds will be divided among 30 parties that are registered with the court.

The Partido Liberal (PL) receives the largest share – about R$881 million (≈17.8% of the total). The Partido dos Trabalhadores (PT) is second with roughly R$615 million, and União Brasil follows with about R$526 million. Together the three parties account for close to 40 % of the entire fund. The distribution follows the legal formula: 2 % equally among all parties, 35 % based on votes for the Chamber of Deputies, 48 % on the number of deputies elected, and 15 % on Senate representation.

The remaining parties split the rest of the resources according to the same criteria, allowing them to finance campaign expenses such as media, printing, logistics and staffing.
