Brazil's Electoral Court head Kássio Nunes Marques schedules July talks with big tech on deep‑fake and fake‑news crack‑d

The president of Brazil's Tribunal Superior Eleitoral (TSE), Justice Kássio Nunes Marques, has set two meetings in July to address election‑related misinformation. On 14 July, he will meet representatives of the country's major digital platforms – including Google, Meta, TikTok and others – to discuss cooperation on removing deep‑fake content, especially "deep nudes," and to enforce TSE rules that ban AI‑generated sexual imagery of candidates.

A second meeting on 16 July will involve research institutes to review the use of audio and video in voter‑intention polls after a disputed AtlasIntel survey tied to candidate Flávio Bolsonaro. The goal is to establish limits on media that could unduly influence respondents. Minister Estela Aranha, former secretary of Digital Rights, is expected to attend both sessions to help shape the agreements.
