Brazil's Eurofarma‑Novo Nordisk program slashes obesity pen prices

The EuroCuida program, launched by Brazilian pharmaceutical company Eurofarma in partnership with Denmark's Novo Nordisk, reduced the prices of the injectable obesity and diabetes pens Poviztra and Extensior across Brazil. Under the new pricing, initial doses of 0.25 mg and 0.5 mg for both drugs now cost R$ 445 per pen, with the 1 mg version priced at R$ 490. Patients who enroll in the program can obtain the 1 mg pens for as little as R$ 309 when purchased within 80 days of the first purchase, and initial‑treatment packs are offered at R$ 399.

Novo Nordisk also expanded its Reciclaneta initiative, which collects used pens for plastic recycling. The program now operates 100 collection points nationwide and has retrieved more than 120,000 pens since its inception in 2021, aiming to reduce environmental waste from injectable devices.
