Brazil's fashion spotlight: Herchcovitch reality show returns and graduate runway debut

The television program "Descosturando com Herchcovitch" launches its third season on August 6 on the E! channel, with streaming on UNIVERSAL+ the following day. Designer Alexandre Herchcovitch hosts the show alongside his mother Regina and new presenters Karol Conká and Márcia Pantera. Each episode pairs a celebrity with an anonymous participant who donate garments of personal significance; the items are then swapped and re‑imagined by the designer using digital printing, 3D printing and projection techniques. Notable guests include singers Gabz and Linn da Quebrada, twins Bia and Branca Feres, and journalist Manoel Soares.

On July 12, graduates of the Fashion Design program at Universidade Veiga de Almeida staged a runway at Rio de Janeiro’s Museu Histórico da Cidade in Gávea. Fifty collections, totaling one hundred looks, explored the theme "O que nos alimenta?"—examining identity, culture, memory and nourishment. About 800 attendees watched the show, and pro‑rector Tatiana Araújo de Lima praised the technical quality and innovation displayed by the students. The event marked the first time the university presented its graduation runway outside the campus.
