Brazil's Federal Accounting Council launches 10th module on Consumption Tax Reform
On Tuesday, 28 May, the Conselho Federal de Contabilidade (CFC) held the 10th module of its 18‑module course on the new Consumption Tax Reform. The hybrid session took place at IBMEC in Belo Horizonte and was streamed live on CFC’s YouTube channel.
The module, titled “Regimes Differentiated and Specific,” was delivered in partnership with the Receita Federal do Brasil (RFB) and supported by the Federação Nacional das Empresas de Serviços Contábeis (Fenacon) and the Conselho Regional de Contabilidade de Minas Gerais (CRCMG). Speakers included RFB officials Marcos Hübner Flores, Roni Peterson and Gustavo Salton, who explained the rules for the differentiated regimes under the reform.
CRCMG president Maria da Conceição Rezende highlighted the role of accountants in interpreting and applying the new tax norms, while RFB superintendent Mario Dehon emphasized the reform’s importance for Brazil’s competitiveness. Participants earned continuing professional education credits and can access the remaining modules, which run weekly until 22 September.
