Brazil's Federal District expands DF 360 video‑surveillance integration

A decree published in the official gazette of the Federal District on 10 March mandates that all direct and indirect public administration bodies in the district must share images and data captured by video‑monitoring cameras, sensors and radars with the Secretariat of Public Security’s DF 360 program. The measure aims to boost real‑time monitoring, prevention and response capabilities for public safety, civil defence, urban mobility, environmental protection and other public‑interest areas. It also requires new contracts, agreements and system upgrades to be compatible with the DF 360 platform and allows voluntary participation of private entities such as utilities, hospitals and schools.

Governor Celina Leão highlighted that the integration will “use technology to protect people and make the city safer,” while Security Secretary Alexandre Patury called the decree a major step toward more efficient, coordinated decision‑making and faster incident response.

The decree gives the SSP‑DF exclusive responsibility for operating the platform, ensures access to shared data is limited to authorized public agents, and sets a 180‑day deadline for agencies to comply with technical and security requirements.
