Brazil's Federal Institutes offer free English proficiency exams

Students within the Federal Network of Professional, Scientific and Technological Education in Brazil can participate in the English Language Proficiency Exam (EPLI) free of charge until November 14. The exam is available at various campuses across the country.

Results from the EPLI can be used for various academic purposes, including academic mobility programs, exchanges, scholarship and research calls, selection processes, and postgraduate studies. The exam is conducted in person using a digital platform, typically in an institution's computer laboratory.

To participate, students must be regularly enrolled in a participating institution within the Federal Network and have completed elementary school. Eligible students include those in secondary, undergraduate, postgraduate, and extension courses. Because each federal institute maintains its own specific notice (edital), students are advised to check their institution's official channels for specific criteria, procedures, and deadlines.
