Brazil's Federal Justice Council releases billions for INSS benefit payments

The Conselho da Justiça Federal (CJF) authorized a total of more than R$2.1 billion in Requisições de Pequeno Valor (RPVs) for federal courts to disburse to beneficiaries of social security and assistance programs. For the Tribunal Regional Federal of the 1st Region (TRF1), the CJE released R$671.9 million, covering 27,460 processes that will benefit 33,891 people. This amount is part of a broader allocation exceeding R$2.5 billion to the six regional federal courts nationwide, encompassing 174,171 processes and 226,242 beneficiaries.

In the 4th Region (TRF‑4), which serves Paraná, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul, the CJF released R$548.8 million, of which R$471.5 million is for previdenciary and assistance actions, affecting 24,559 processes and over 35,000 claimants. The funds are intended for payments such as pension revisions, disability aid, and the Benefício de Prestação Continuada. Courts set the deposit schedules; payments are made through Caixa Econômica Federal or Banco do Brasil, typically within about 60 days after a request is filed. Beneficiaries must check each court’s portal for deposit dates and can receive funds by cash withdrawal or electronic transfer.
