Brazil's Insurance Industry Shows Female Majority in Workforce but Leadership Gap
A new FeMa Meter study of 142 insurance and private‑pension companies supervised by the Superintendência de Seguros Privados (Susep) finds that women make up 54.4 % of the sector’s workforce but hold only 28.5 % of executive‑management posts and 18.5 % of board seats. The research, based on data submitted for 31 December 2024, also shows that female consumers purchase fewer insurance and private‑pension products than male consumers. The findings are intended to guide public‑policy measures aimed at improving gender inclusion in the Brazilian insurance market.
