Brazil's fintech sector shifts toward sustainability and high‑income services
Fintechs across Latin America are moving from rapid customer‑base growth to a focus on profitability and sustainable business models. Investors now prioritize cash‑flow generation, operational efficiency and “Series P” profitability. A LatAm Intersect study highlights a new “Trust as a Service” approach, where AI‑driven financial assistants complement, rather than replace, human support—62% of users accept AI assistants, but 85% still want a person for critical issues such as fraud disputes. The region also faces a surge in AI‑enhanced phishing attacks, prompting fintechs to emphasize security.
In Brazil, fintech ARQ is targeting affluent customers who need multi‑currency accounts, overseas investments and low‑cost international payments. After launching in Mexico, Argentina and Colombia, ARQ entered Brazil in 2025, positioning itself against rivals such as Nubank, Revolut, Wise and Nomad. The firm aims to serve high‑income Brazilians who travel frequently or run cross‑border businesses, offering global‑account features, competitive FX rates and integrated investment tools.
